Lia Nicholson

Lia Nicholson is Head of Sustainability at Terrascope, an end-to-end decarbonisation platform. She is an experienced climate leader who has worked at the interface of national and local government, business, and civil society across the Caribbean, West Africa, Asia and the Pacific. In her previous role, Lia was a climate negotiator in the United Nations and senior advisor to Small Island Alliance (AOSIS) - a bloc of 39 countries facing existential climate risks, and considered the moral voice for climate action.

Lia spent several years with C40 Cities Climate Leadership in West Africa, where she supported mayor’s offices in Abidjan, Accra, Dakar and Lagos to prepare city-level GHG inventories and develop Paris Agreement-aligned climate plans. Lia received a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University, and met the late Queen of England in 2017 as the recipient of a Commonwealth leadership award.

Lia serves on the Technical Advisory Group of the Science-based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
