Jamie Houston

CEO
Aurora Sustainable Lands

Jamie Houston IV is CEO of Aurora Sustainable Lands, a carbon-first company that owns and manages industrial U.S. forestlands. By conserving and managing these forests with a carbon first strategy, Aurora taps into the oldest and most effective carbon removal tool – trees – to offer nature-based carbon credits with unrivaled reliability, durability, and quality. Since its formation in 2021, Aurora has grown to become one of the largest private forestland owners in the U.S. and, to date, has enrolled more than 1.6 million acres of historically industrial forestlands into its carbon-first management plan, shifting the land’s primary use from timber harvesting to long-term carbon sequestration.

Joining Aurora in 2022, Jamie has held previous roles in forestry, agriculture, and private equity. He holds degrees from the University of Mississippi and the University of Georgia and is a registered forester in the state of Mississippi.
