Bernd Heid

Bernd Heid is a Senior Partner with McKinsey & Company and is based in Cologne, Germany. Bernd joined the firm in 2000 and is the global leader of the McKinsey Hydrogen Service Line and McKinsey’s Platform for Climate Technologies. He has led numerous projects along the full hydrogen value chain and leads McKinsey’s partnership with the Hydrogen Council, which he helped to initiate and where he co-authored, among others, the “Hydrogen Scaling-up report”, the “Cost Roadmap”, the “Hydrogen Insights Report” and the “Hydrogen Net Zero Report”.

Bernd also co-leads the firm’s collaboration with the World Economic Forum. Bernd has been appointed as an advisory board member of the Center of Hydrogen Innovation (CHI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Bernd holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the RWTH Aachen and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
